Your Guide to a Happy Saturday

Self love and self care are so important. This is how you can prioritize both.

7:30 Wake up Call

Gooood morning, sunshines! With a hot yoga class coming up, I like to give myself plenty of time to wake-up, get dressed, and relax.

8:00 – 8:30 Avocado toast & coffee

So of course I need to make a healthy small breakfast with some coffee to fully wake me up. One piece of avocado toast is a great way to get a healthy fat in the morning and fuel your body before you head out for a sweat sesh.

9:00 – 10:05 Hot Yoga

From the West village, my boyfriend and I walked 10 minutes over to Yoga Vida for a 65 minute hot yoga class. I love this studio. It has excellent windows, calming and knowledgable instructors, and mats/towels available.

What I bring to yoga classes:

  • Water bottle (Essential!)
  • Gaiam yoga mat
  • Yoga towel for my mat

Where to book classes:

10:20 – 10:45 Head Uptown

Post being zen yogis, we hopped on the 6 train at Bleeker St and headed up to 77th street. This was about a 20 min ride so I had just the right amount of time to finish a chapter in the book I’m reading: An American Marriage.

11:45 – 11:00 Grab a protein bar

After stopping to grab cash, we walked across the street to Duane Reade to grab a protein bar. It’s always a good idea to have a healthy snack/meal after a good workout. I had a Think Thin bar. They’re tasty and packed with protein!

11:15 – 12:30 Couples massage and tea

Self-care is important. I had a Groupon for a Spa in Upper East Side so this was the perfect stop after a relaxing morning.

1:00 – 2:00 Face mask, shower, hydrate

Face masks are my life. I think I have over 40 at my apartment right now. After 10-20 minutes with my sheet mask on and sipping water out of my coral yeti mug, I hopped in the shower to get all that sweat off. Ahhhh refreshing 🙂

2:00 – 4:30 March Madness

Game after game after game. Mac and I put $$ on Kentucky to cover….. and they did! SCORE.

5:30 – 9:00 Dinner and drinks with friends

  • Location: Hell’s Kitchen
  • Restaurant: The Distillery NYC
  • Food: Cobb salad with steak (YUM!!!!)
  • Drinks of the night: Hot Toddy + a Titos soda

9:00 – 10:30 Wine bar

Headed back to my neck of the woods in UES and went to a wine bar called Pil Pil. This is a cozy Spanish tapas bar that I absolutely love. They have a large wine menu and delicious tapas like patatas bravas, tortilla de patata, and croquetas. 10/10 rating.

11:00 – Sleepy time

You’d think I’m 20 years older than I am, but I need my sleep. Plus, you’ll feel better the next day!
