Book a hotel room based on how you FEEL – Blue, Red, Yellow, Green

There’s a lot of research behind the psychology of color. An innovative hotel in Saint Louis, MO took that and ran with it.

Color Psychology 101

Color influences human behavior. Have you ever wondered why spas are painted and decorated in hues of green and blue, but stimulant pills are typically red or orange?

Greens and blues are highly connected with health, fertility, stability, and harmony. You go to a spa to feel healthier and more balanced. On the contrary, bold reds capture attention and evoke excitement. When pills are red, the placebo effect takes place, making the drug more effective.

If you burn your skin on a hot stove, would you want to apply a red cream or a white cream?

CEO, Steve Smith, didn’t design this elaborate 146 room hotel with custom velvety bathrobes just so he could lead the most aesthetically pleasing hotel in Missouri. Instead, his goal was to give the people what they wanted: A hotel room to match and influence their mood.

Here’s how you can find the perfect room for your ~vibes~ (Plus your furry friend if you please since this is a pet-friendly travel destination)

First, you decide if you want a queen, king, or bunk bed. Then you choose how you want to feel:

  1. Passionate
  2. Tranquil
  3. Rejuvenated
  4. Happy

The red rooms will ignite your passionate side with an array of red pillows and a subtle glow from the dim red overhead lighting. If you’re looking for the perfect place to get your business idea on paper, this is the room for you as it will compel you into action.

If you’re desiring a sense of balance, check out the blue rooms. You will be greeted by a Zen Garden to guide you into a state of utter clarity. If you’re really looking to splurge on your trip to see the Saint Louis Blues play some hockey, choose a king size bed in a blue suite!

Need a pick me up, but not in the form of espresso? Look no further than the green rooms. When you wake up wrapped warmly in the deep green blanket, the Himalayan salt lamp will boost blood flow and increase levels of serotonin.

Yellow is associated with positivity. Yellow sunshine, fresh bananas, clean lemons, and sunflowers. The yellow rooms are the perfect rooms for a little bit of work and a lot of play.

Now that you know how the Angad Arts Hotel designed a variety of 4 rooms to please you, it’s time to book a relaxing trip. Check out their website here for more information on how you can book a suite tonight.
